Grounded on real events, 'The Children of Huang Shi ' are wide, but close typing against the China torn by war in 1930. The film is centered on the young English journalist (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), the American nurse (Radha Mitchell) and the leader of the Chinese biassed group (Meal Adeps Yun) who meets under desperate and unexpected circumstances. Together they salvage 60 deserted children, carrying on them by extraordinary trip through hundreds miles of a treacherous landscape, through snow-covered mountains and relentless desert. On path they detect value of true of love, responsibility and bravery.
